On March 4, 2025, Tongyu Heavy Industry Co., Ltd. made a major breakthrough in the field of high-end equipment manufacturing, and the first set of cast steel parts for the high-pressure outer cylinder of ultra-large nuclear power was poured.The size of the casting is 8.5 meters (length)×5 meters (width) ×2.8 meters (height), the net weight is nearly 120 tons, and the pouring weight is more than 250 tons. Its contour size and weight are among the forefront of the same type of products in China.
As the core component of a nuclear power unit, the outer cylinder needs to operate stably under extreme working conditions, and its material performance requirements are extremely high. The deformation control and casting process design caused by the oversized structure are also difficult problems in the industry.After repeated research and development, the technical team innovated the process plan, and successfully broke through the technical bottleneck through the careful planning and strict implementation of the pouring process.
This successful launch marks a key step for Tongyu Heavy Industry in the field of nuclear power equipment manufacturing, laying a technical foundation for exploring the nuclear power market, and also providing strong support for the high-quality development of the national nuclear power industry.
